Business Focus

Finding your market niche – THE unique market opportunity that brings reward and recognition for all your passion, gifts, interests and efforts is a challenge for most entrepreneurs, and more so for enterprising couples.

Our experience of formal education, heading corrections, wild success, market changes, trying again, miserable failure, painful reinvention, recognition, catastrophe, starting over… has helped us understand the need and challenges of focusing first-hand. We joke with ourselves about being delusional optimists and serial entrepreneurs – continually facilitating the birth of great ideas – for other people.

Susanne was a client of ours. We helped her establish a new venture, and to show some early results. Six months later, we helped her on another venture. Eighteen months later, she asked for us to ‘help again’. We knew that our ‘help’ wasn’t the answer she needed. She was still exploring. We helped Suzanne by NOT taking her money.
Don Leask has been a client for 15 years. He had retired when he came to us with a question of what to do with two semi-truck trailers full of old car parts. We got him started with eBay. He was the 2nd auto parts company on eBay! Today, he and Kathy travel around North America restocking their warehouse of parts for their online store. We helped Don to monetize his passion.
An associate of ours has a consulting business. Their business card reads “a little bit of everything”. Uh oh. Jack does it all? Our recommendation: Focus

Zen Archery

Zen ArcheryA master archer was in the forest with two students. As the students prepared to shoot at a distant target, the master interrupted them with a question; "what do you see?" Cash flow, payroll, supply problems, employee benefits, taxes, risks, market changes, labor issues, recalls, marketing failures... The forest is thick with distraction.
